Wenger to Open First U.S. Retail Store
Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Wenger announced plans to open its first United States retail store, to be located on iconic Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado.  The 3,000-square foot retail shop, scheduled to open in April, 2010 will be situated in the heart of Boulder’s historic downtown district.

The new retail store, conceived and managed by Wenger Footwear licensee Established Brands International, will be designed in a vintage, natural environment, say the companies. The Pearl Street site will be the first retail outlet in the U.S. to house Wenger’s entire global family of products and will serve as a key facility to launch new product lines. The Wenger store also will provide visitors the opportunity to experience the entire line of the company’s Swiss Army knives, watches, footwear, luggage, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and technical packs.

The new Wenger store will also feature a showroom, where members of the Wenger family can bring key retailers and other special guests, and introduce them to the company’s latest products. The store will enable consumers to access and experience “all things that are Wenger” and serve as a retail lab for product testing and consumer focus groups.

Keeping with the charm and beauty of the Pearl Street Mall, the Wenger store will be situated in a historical building built in the early 1900s with original weathered brick on the 110 block of the Pearl Street Mall. With a spectacular view of the Flatirons, Wenger will also open its doors to the community and provide the venue as a local meeting place for associations and athletic groups, as well as hosting its brand ambassadors, art exhibits, special guest speakers and those looking to share in the outdoor experience.
